Thanksgiving Day thoughts on ISO9001-2008

On this Thanksgiving Day I have so many things to be thankful for.

Life hasn’t exactly been a big bowl of cherries since the recession hit us. But all in all I don’t have much to complain about. Family, friends, health, business…all good things.

But since this is an ISO9001-2008 quality management systems blog, here’s some things I’m thankful for.

I’m thankful for my long-time clients, and the referrals they’ve given me through the years. I’m thankful for the clients who just need a little help to make it through their next audit. I’m thankful for third-party auditors that are very reasonable people. I’ve found most of them fit into this category.

I’m thankful that ISO9001 seems to be just as important as ever in the quality world. In the past year I’ve added a couple of new clients because their customers really want them to get ISO certified. In the past few years I’ve read articles about the decline of popularity of ISO9001-2008, but in my little part of the world it just isn’t so.

I’m thankful for the enthusiastic, helpful people at client companies who make me look forward to visiting their office. I’m grateful for the birthday cake that a very nice lady at a client company baked for me.

I’m thankful for the continual improvement shown by so many areas of the companies I work with. Most people take this stuff quite seriously, which makes my job easier. I’m also grateful to my client companies because they pay my invoices quickly!
